Todd Tucker is a political scientist and Director of Industrial Policy and Trade at the Roosevelt Institute, the think tank and non-profit partner of the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum. A recognized expert on the political economy of economic transformations, Dr. Tucker is author of Judge Knot: Politics and Development in International Investment Law (Anthem Press); academic articles published in journals such as Perspectives on Politics, World Trade Review, and International Studies Perspectives; and over 50 think-tank reports and white papers. His writing has been published in Foreign Affairs, Democracy Journal, Vox, Politico, Washington Post, and other outlets.

A native of Louisville, Kentucky, Dr. Tucker received his BA from the George Washington University and his PhD and MPhil from the University of Cambridge, where he was a Gates Scholar. He has taught at Johns Hopkins University and the University of New Hampshire. Prior to his doctoral work, he led research on international issues for the non-profit group Public Citizen. He lives in Washington, DC.
