Todd Lapenna is a Founding Partner on the Infrastructure and Real Assets team at StepStone based in New York, since January 2017.

In his current role, Mr. Lapenna leads the North American Infrastructure & Real Assets team and is a member of the Executive Committee, Investment Committee and cross asset class Global Allocation Committee. Prior to joining StepStone, Mr. Lapenna co-founded the Infrastructure Program at CalPERS where he led new investments, strategy development and portfolio construction. In his current and previous roles, he has negotiated and underwritten numerous power, conventional energy, sustainability, renewables, utility, transportation, social, mining and industrial deals. Former clients and employers include RBS, CIT, EDC, Westcoast Energy, GE Capital and Domtar. Mr. Lapenna has 25+ years of experience advising, investing and asset managing tens of billions of equity capital across funds, secondaries, co-investment and direct investment in the Americas, Europe and APAC.

Mr. Lapenna graduated with a BBA (Honors) in Finance from Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo, Canada in 1994. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst , Financial Risk Manager, Energy Risk Professional and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designations.
