Transmission Line Rebuild

Randolph Electric Membership Corporation’s comprehensive infrastructure upgrade project will addresses multiple critical challenges facing rural North Carolina’s electrical grid. By replacing deteriorating wooden transmission poles with advanced galvanized steel infrastructure, the project aims to enhance energy resilience, reduce power outages, and improve maintenance efficiency. The initiative goes beyond infrastructure improvement, creating a transmission apprenticeship program that supports local workforce development, mitigates economic distress in declining populations, and ensures reliable, affordable energy for disadvantaged communities through strategic technological interventions.
