Matt Sloustcher is the Senior Vice President of Communications & Policy at MP Materials, the largest producer of rare earth materials in the Western Hemisphere. In this role, he leads the company’s government relations initiatives at local, state, and federal levels and oversees its strategic communications strategy.

He is also a member of the Industry Trade Advisory Committee on Critical Minerals & Nonferrous Metals at the Department of Commerce, an advisory role appointed by the Secretary of Commerce and the U.S. Trade Representative.

Prior to joining MP Materials, Matt led the U.S. public relations team at American Honda, overseeing strategic communications across all of Honda’s U.S. business lines. Earlier in his career, he directed corporate communications and government affairs at a startup electric vehicle and battery manufacturer and worked as a consultant to technology and energy companies at Peppercomm Strategic Communications in San Francisco.

Matt holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
