Mark Baker is an International Representative for the International Brotherhood of Elecrtrical Workers in the International Office’s Utility Department.
His background consists of being hired as a meter reader at the local utility company, then Union Electric, now known as Ameren, in Southeast Missouri in 1991. He completed an apprenticeship program and became a Journeyman Lineman in 1996.
In 2004, he went on staff as Business Representative with IBEW Local 702 where he represented members at Investor Owned Utilities, Electric Cooperatives, and Municipalities, in the electric, natural gas, and water & sewer system classifications.
In November of 2021, he began an appointment into his current position with the IBEW and on February 7th, 2022, he was appointed Executive Director of the National Utility Industry Training Fund, a joint labor-management partnership that delivers education and curriculum training to the utility companies whose members are represented by the IBEW.
Mark is a 2007 graduate of the National Labor College with a degree in Union Leadership and Administration and has been married to the love of his life, Kim – his high school sweetheart – since 1992. Together, they have three adult children and one grandson that is not spoiled at all…
