Ian Dickinson is the CEO of LongPath Technologies, a company that utilizes advanced laser-based sensor technology to provide real-time, continuous emissions monitoring data and actionable insights for its clients in the energy industry.
With over 20 years of executive leadership experience, Mr. Dickinson brings a deep understanding of business strategy and team building to his role as CEO. His primary focus is on setting the strategic direction for LongPath, fostering a strong team and culture to execute on that vision, and transforming the company from a startup with differentiated quantum sensing technology into a successful commercial enterprise that can have a meaningful impact on the energy industry and the environment.
As a leader, Mr. Dickinson believes in hiring smart people and empowering them to do their best work. He is deeply committed to fostering a culture of innovation, urgency, tenacity, and open communication at LongPath, recognizing that these values are essential for the company’s long- term success.
Prior to joining LongPath, Mr. Dickinson held multiple leadership positions in the energy sector. He served as CEO of a private equity-backed advanced oilfield equipment manufacturer and subsequently became the CEO of Servco, a publicly traded oilfield service and energy services company.
Mr. Dickinson began his career in finance doing M&A work before transitioning into the telecom industry, gaining exposure to subscriber-based business models and working with a spectrum of companies – from Fortune 500 firms to smaller venture capital-backed businesses.
Mr. Dickinson is actively involved in Colorado’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. He has been a member of Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) since 2012 and helped launch the Boulder Chapter, serving as one of the founding board members. He is a delegate of Colorado’s quantum initiative and has participated in Governor Polis’ trip to Denmark, Sweden, and Finland to promote Colorado’s quantum industry.
Mr. Dickinson also serves on the advisory board for ACE Scholarships, a Denver-based organization that provides scholarships to disadvantaged youth to attend private schools. Additionally, he is an advisor to Cattus Capital, a real estate private equity fund.
Outside of work, Ian is an avid skier, mountain biker, and soccer player who loves taking advantage of all that Colorado’s outdoor scene has to offer with his wife and three children.
