As Vice President of Technical Services, Evelyn leads SEIA’s technical and technological initiatives and programs that support the association’s work in advocacy and implementation of legislative and regulatory policy. These initiatives include the technical solutions that facilitate the solar industry’s continued rapid growth and additionally mitigate business risks for its members.

Her team covers advocacy in U.S. building and energy codes and solar and storage equipment product standards. SEIA is an ANSI-accredited standards developer and currently is working on standards for operations and maintenance training, installation and training standards for distributed generation and utility-scale solar that increase consistency, safety, quality and professionalism in the industry. She serves as a board director and Treasurer of the SolarAPP Foundation, which is the license holder of SolarAPP+, the nation’s comprehensive automated software program that enables instant permitting of residential solar and storage developed by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) with support from the U.S. Department of Energy.

She leads the association’s Environmental and Social Governance and Sustainability efforts to ensure standards and guidance help build responsible supply chains and sustainable end-of-life strategies. She is a member of the technical advisory committee that creates requirements for the SERI R2 standard that includes PV recycling. She also represents the association in the current effort to revise the GHG Protocol carbon accounting standard.

Prior to joining SEIA almost ten years ago, Evelyn worked at UL Solutions (previously UL LLC/Underwriters Laboratories Inc.) establishing and leading its global solar portfolio, international market development, and services development and management. Her education background is in business development, organizational leadership and management, and sustainability from UC Berkeley, and Yale University and Stanford University professional programs.
