As the Deputy Director for Technology Policy, Dr. Elke Hodson leads teams at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) that provide technical expertise to the Internal Revenue Service and Treasury Department to implement the clean energy tax provisions under the Inflation Reduction Act. In addition, she leads a team that develops policies and analysis to understand and advance clean energy deployment. Prior to rejoining DOE, Elke served as Deputy Director and senior staff of the Natural Resources and Environment branch at the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs in the Executive Office of the President, where she oversaw federal government review of federal stationary source air quality regulations. She previously served as staff in the Office of Climate and Environmental Policy at DOE.

Dr. Hodson holds a Ph.D. in Atmospheric Chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.A. in Chemistry from Cornell University.
