Dr. Ariel Marshall is the Chief of Staff in the Office of the Under Secretary for Science and Innovation. Before assuming this role, Ariel served as the legislative director for Senator Jeanne Shaheen, the senior Senator from New Hampshire. In this position, Ariel developed and implemented the Senator’s legislative agenda, including leading efforts to secure historic investments in energy, water, and broadband infrastructure as part of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. During her nearly nine-year tenure on Capitol Hill, Ariel served in many roles, including as a senior domestic policy advisor, helping to advance legislative initiatives in the areas of energy, environment, advanced manufacturing, science and innovation, and additional domestic policy fields. Ariel holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, AR, and a doctorate degree in chemistry from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA.
