Cindy Jia heads ING’s Sustainable Finance team for the Americas in providing tailored advisory and financing solutions in support of clients’ sustainability projects and goals. She is also charged with continuing to evolve the team’s mandate to meet ING’s ambition of financing the sustainable transition and overseeing the implementation of ING’s own sustainability strategy in the Americas region.
Cindy is a seasoned industry professional with a career spanning across power project finance, energy technology development, and business strategy. Previously as a Director in the team covering the energy and energy-intensive sectors, Cindy has led and contributed to a number of landmark transactions across ABS, bonds and loans. Prior to joining the team, Cindy led an energy technology start-up developing heat exchangers and reactors for use in decarbonization solutions and helped the company and its partners win multiple awards from the US Department of Energy. Cindy was also first inventor of a novel heat exchanger that was selected for funding by the Advanced Research Projects Agency – Energy, one the DOE’s most selective programs sponsoring transformational research, alongside the likes of MIT, GE, and Boeing.
Cindy has a BS in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a J.D. from the St. Francis School of Law. She is admitted to the California Bar.
