Benton Arnett is the Senior Director of Markets and Policy at the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI). In this role he covers issues relating to federal and state energy policy, nuclear energy capital formation, and industrial nuclear applications.
Prior to joining NEI, Benton advised senior leadership at ExxonMobil on upstream issues management, leading efforts to improve global energy policy and regulation to tackle the dual challenge of delivering affordable energy for economic growth while also addressing climate change. Benton started his career at the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) where he was awarded a White House Special Achievement Award for his work developing innovative carbon pricing policies. He was a Presidential Management Fellow and was selected for a special project detail to the Federal Reserve Board of Governors.
Benton earned his Bachelor’s of Science in Political Science and Master’s in Public Service and Administration from Texas A&M University.
