Aram Shumavon is the founder and CEO of Kevala, a pioneering grid data and analytics company advancing decarbonization and electrification through actionable insights. With over 25 years of experience in the energy sector, Aram is a veteran energy market economist and a recognized leader in driving technology-led transformation within regulated industries. His expertise spans energy market design, utility procurement, and DER integration planning, equipping utilities, regulators, and industry stakeholders with data-driven tools to make strategic, equitable energy decisions.
Before founding Kevala, Aram served as an advisor at the California Public Utilities Commission, where he led statewide initiatives on long-term procurement, resource adequacy, and renewables integration during a pivotal period of energy transition. He also founded the Distributed Energy Consumer Advocates, advocating for greater end-user participation in energy markets.
Under Aram’s leadership, Kevala has grown from a startup to a trusted partner for major utilities and regulatory entities, delivering comprehensive grid data analytics for a cleaner, more resilient energy future. Aram holds an AB in Economics and Public Policy from the University of Chicago.
