Angelina M. Galiteva serves as CEO of California’s Statewide Alliance for Renewable Clean Hydrogen Energy Systems (ARCHES), a position she assumed in late 2023 after leading the initiative since 2021. ARCHES, which recently signed a $12.6B cooperative agreement with the Department of Energy to be a Regional Clean Hydrogen Hub, focuses on accelerating decarbonization and developing a sustainable hydrogen ecosystem in California, the world’s fourth-largest economy.

A pioneer in renewable energy policy, Ms. Galiteva is the Founder and Board Chair of Renewables 100 Policy Institute, which champions the global transition to 100% renewable energy across all sectors. Her expertise in power systems and clean energy has earned her significant appointments, including becoming the first female Chair of the California Independent Systems Operator (CAISO) Board in 2020. Governor Newsom recently reappointed her to a fourth term on the CAISO Board in 2023.

Ms. Galiteva holds leadership positions in several international organizations, serving as Chairperson of the World Council for Renewable Energy and Founding Board Member of the Global Clean Energy Desalination Alliance. As founder of NEOptions, Inc., she continues to drive renewable energy development and implementation.
Her extensive experience includes overseeing utility-scale renewable energy projects, bulk storage initiatives, and microgrid installations. She has structured electric vehicle-to-grid programs and accelerated hydrogen infrastructure development both domestically and internationally. Previously, she served as Executive Director of Strategic Planning at the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power and worked at the New York Power Authority.

The U.S. State Department frequently calls upon Ms. Galiteva as an expert representative on renewable energy and grid resilience matters. She holds JD and LLM degrees in Energy and Environmental Law from Pace University School of Law and is internationally recognized for her expertise in designing regulatory frameworks supporting carbon-free technology development and implementation.
